You know the old saying about how you can’t truly understand a person’s circumstances until you have ‘’walked a mile in their shoes’’?
Think about all of the things you do without even thinking, things you have done so often they have become second nature, like:
- watching television
- walking up the stairs
- making yourself a cup of tea.
For people like Judi who suffer from Spinocerebellar Ataxia (SCA) making a cup of tea is a very different kettle of fish. We loved finding out more about her. Judi’s positive customer review made our day too, see for yourself below.
What is Spinocerebellar Ataxia?
It is a condition characterized by progressive problems with movement. People with SCA initially experience problems with coordination and balance.
Other possible signs and symptoms of SCA types can include speech and swallowing difficulties as well as muscle stiffness. If you are worried/unsure about anything concerning SCA, we strongly recommend you talk to your Doctor.
About Judi
Judi has her very own Vlog – Living on 6 Wheels – where she talks about living with SCA, what it is and how she enjoys a fairly active life.
In other videos, Judi talks about the ways she has tried to safely pour boiling water from a traditional kettle. Unfortunately, with the shake in her hand, it makes things very difficult and dangerous.
Judi finds it hard to lift a regular kettle as she has reduced strength because of her condition. She was over the moon when she found our Uccello Kettle at her local Daily Living Aids store.
Judi loves her Uccello Kettle because it’s effortless and safe tipping. Meaning she will never have to lift a hot kettle again when making her favorite cuppa.
It’s made my life so much easier
