Whether you are 18 or 80, we would all like to be more nimble and flexible!
The ability to be flexible is important for our overall health and wellbeing and it only becomes more important as we age. Now, I’m not talking about being able to do the splits or contort yourself into a pretzel. By flexibility, I mean being being able to move freely, not being restricted in your movements. This is where you are able to move your joints freely and with ease (no pain) each day.
For many of our readers living with arthritis and chronic pain, they have to deal with pain, inflammation and stiffness on a daily basis. It is because of this that I want to talk about some great ways to help you increase your flexibility with easy to follow guides. There is a short explainer video under each to help make life easier too.
Why is it important to keep flexible?
The good news is, that you can never really lose flexibility. You can regain it at any age. The reason why keeping flexible is so important is because it will:
- Improve your range of motion in all your joints.
- Decreases tension and stress to help give you a more relaxed body and a positive mindset.
- Fewer injuries. Once you develop strength and flexibility in your body, you’ll be able to withstand more.
- Improved posture and balance.
