This week, we are delighted to share a wonderful story about Margaret, a user of our Uccello Kettle, Grip Mat and Muggi Cup Holder Bundle.
Living Independently with Arthritis & Tremors
Margaret, 85, lives alone and manages arthritis and a hand tremor, which can make kitchen tasks challenging. She found using a traditional kettle difficult and dangerous, leading to frequent scalds and increasing anxiety.
Struggles with a Traditional Kettle
”I found it frustrating not being able to make a coffee safely on my own. I had difficulty lifting, filling, and pouring it without spilling, and it was getting worse,” Margaret shared.
Discovering the Uccello Kettle & Grip Mat
After trying our Uccello Kettle & Grip Mat, Margaret couldn’t believe the difference. The tilting cradle of the kettle allows her to pour a cup of coffee without worry. Its lightweight design and easy one-touch-to-open hinged lid make filling the kettle easier.
A Marvellous & Clever Design
”It’s marvellous, such a clever design that works well. Now, I do not have to go without a hot drink. As it is so easy to pour from. I use it to fill my hot water bottle too which is something else I had to stop doing with my traditional kettle. Having the non-slip Grip Mat is a great idea too and has helped me in different ways. I even use the mat to help me get a better grip to open bottles and jars.”
Enhanced Safety with the Muggi Cup Holder
Margaret also mentioned the Muggi Cup Holder, which she purchased shortly after the Uccello Kettle and Grip Mat. It catches any potential drips and spills, making it safer to transport hot drinks.
Increased Confidence & Safety at Home
”With the aid of the Muggi Cup Holder, it was possible to carry the drinks out unaided! When you are younger and more able, you take things like this for granted, but as you get older, this means a lot. With the help of products like the Uccello Kettle, I feel safer and more confident in my home.”
Margarets experience highlights the positive impact our assistive living products can have on everyday life.
