There are three different ways you can choose to manage your NDIS funding: 

1. Self-managed  

This means that you can access your funding yourself from the Myplace portal. You are responsible for tracking your spending, making claims, and paying your providers. This means that usually, you would pay your service provider from your own fund and then look for reimbursement from the NDIA. 

2. Plan-managed  

The NDIA will allow for funding in your plan for a Plan Manager. They will be able to access the funding on your behalf, pay your providers and help you keep track of your spending.  

3. NDIA-managed 

The NIDA pays service providers on your behalf. If you choose this option, you must select from a list of NIDA-approved providers for any equipment and services you access.  It’s not a bad option but you may be limited to where you can buy from.
